TIPS FOR DRIVERS
Rule of 3
Give riders 3 feet of space when passing.
Make eye contact with nearby riders before passing, so they know for sure you see them.
Look for nearby riders before turning/passing…then look again.
Hitting’s not nice. Don’t hit the bikes.
Share the road. There’s room for everyone!
Using headphones or a cell phone while driving is dangerous.
Tips For Bikers
Wear bright colors and reflective stripes… make it easy for cars to see you!
follow the flow
Which way is traffic going? Go that way, too.
Use your arms/hands to signal all turns and stops.
Obey the same rules for stopping, turning, changing lanes and obeying traffic signals as you would in a car.
Be predictable (no weaving!) and ensure you’re visible when turning, crossing streets and stopping.
