Rule of 3
Give riders 3 feet of space when passing.
EYE-TO-EYE
Make eye contact with nearby riders before passing, so they know for sure you see them.
DOUBLE TAKE
Look for nearby riders before turning/passing…then look again.
DON’T HIT
Hitting’s not nice. Don’t hit the bikes.

Wear bright colors and reflective stripes… make it easy for cars to see you!

Which way is traffic going? Go that way, too.
Hands-on
Use your arms/hands to signal all turns and stops.

Obey the same rules for stopping, turning, changing lanes and obeying traffic signals as you would in a car.

Be predictable (no weaving!) and ensure you’re visible when turning, crossing streets and stopping.
